The Galapagos Lava Lizards

Besides the iguanas, other two families of lizard live on the Galapagos Islands: the geckos and the lava lizards. From both the lava lizards are well known by tourists because they are vary common and active during the day. The female lava lizard is easy to tell from the male because of their red throat. The lava lizard are found anywhere around the principal islands, but their survival in Santa Maria Island is threaten by the rats and wild cats. Many of this lava lizard have developed themselves with jut only one species found in any island.

The Galapagos Islands Snakes

Three species of snakes are found in the Galapagos Islands, all of them are not poisonous. Two species inhabit the central and occidental islands, and the third species known as Biserialis of Dromicus inhabit the southern islands. The behavior of these snakes are unknown because they avoid any contact with man.
